RiseCore Nation is three movements working as one. Every person who gives, lifts or walks with someone is part of it.
- 1FUNDGive.
- 2LIFTHope.
- 3HUBRecovery.
You're in Movement 2: LIFT. Reach out, and nobody walks alone in a dark hour.
You don't have to carry it alone
If you, or someone you love, is thinking about suicide or is in a dark place, real people are ready to listen. Free, private, any time, day or night.
Veterans and service members: call 988, then press 1, or text 838255.
En español: llame al 988 y oprima 2.
Deaf or hard of hearing: reach 988 by text, online chat, or videophone in ASL.

The light is ahead. One step at a time. You're not walking it by yourself.
If you're the one hurting
Feelings this heavy can pass, even when it doesn't feel like they will. For right now:
- 1Get through the next hour. Not the next year. Just this hour.
- 2Tell one person. A friend, a family member, a pastor, or 988. Say it out loud.
- 3Make your space safer. Put distance between you and anything you could use to hurt yourself. Ask someone to hold onto it.
- 4Don't be alone tonight. Go where people are, or ask someone to come to you.
How to be a buddy
You don't need special training to help. You just need to show up.
- 1Ask. Straight out: "Are you thinking about suicide?" Asking won't put the idea in their head. It opens the door.
- 2Listen. Don't fix, don't judge. Let them talk.
- 3Keep them safe. Stay with them. Help put distance between them and anything they could use to hurt themselves.
- 4Connect. Call or text 988 together. Sit with them while they do.
- 5Follow up. Check in tomorrow, and the day after. That text matters more than you know.
What to say, and what not to
"You matter to me."
"I'm not going anywhere."
"Let's call 988 together."
"Just think positive."
"You'd never do that."
Promising to keep it a secret.
Signs a buddy may be hurting

After a loss
If you've lost someone to suicide, the grief is real and it's heavy, and none of it is your fault. You don't have to carry it alone either. Call or text 988 any time, and look for a loss survivors group near you through the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
